Huey Lewis is ready to portray a fictionalized version of himself in a new half-hour mockumentary comedy show coming to Fox titled, Whatever Happened to Huey Lewis. The Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated musician will star in the show as well as serve as executive producer of the project, which comes from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Jimmy Kimmel‘s Kimmelot, and Fox Entertainment Studios. Whatever Happened to Huey Lewis is written and executive produced by Kirker Butler (Family Guy, Only Murders In the Building), with the show focused on rock star Lewis’ life after he loses his hearing.
Lewis revealed back in 2018 that he had suffered severe hearing loss as a result of being stricken with Ménière’s disease. Lewis’ new creative venture comes shortly after the closing of the Broadway musical based on hit songs from throughout the singer’s career, The Heart of Rock and Roll, which had its final show back on June 23 after only 72 performances.
