FILE UNDER MORE FOO FOR YOU:

From last night’s Letterman:

After rocking out with Zac Brown and Heart‘s Ann and Nancy Wilson earlier in the week on the Late Show, the Foo Fighters went with a more country feel on the CBS late-night program Wednesday night.

The band paired up with Tony Joe White for a rendition of White’s late 1960s hit, “Polk Salad Annie.”

Earlier in the broadcast, the Foo Fighters starred in a sketch that mocked TV commercials for law firms. The group pretended to be lawyers who are committed to “fighting foo.”

The Foo Fighters are appearing on Late Show all week to promote their Sonic Highways HBO series and album. On Thursday night, they will be joined by Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick.

FILE UNDER FOO FIGHTERS:

The week of the Foo continues.

In addition to playing a full week of shows on The Late Show with David Letterman, the debut of their HBO documentary on Friday and a concert live-stream immediately following that debut, Foo Fighters has announced they will release the first song off their new album, Sonic Highways, this Thursday, Octcober 16.

“The rumors are true…this Thursday you’ll hear the first song on our new album,” reads a tweet from the band’s Twitter account.

The documentary series, Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, premieres on HBO October 17 at 11 p.m. ET. The series will follow the band as they travel from city to city interviewing other musicians and recording the album Sonic Highways, which will be released November 10. A live-stream of their Chicago show will take place October 17 on Facebook at 11:59 p.m. after the first episode concludes.
