4:05PM The record label the Black Keys are on, Nonesuch Records, is also now the home of Robert Plant! The voice of Led Zeppelin will release his new album with his group “The Sensational Space Shifters” later this year. The band this past weekend played the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

3:05PM The days of looking for guitar tab on the net are over. There’s an amazing app for serious musicians wanting to learn the authorized parts of their favorite songs. It’s called JAMMIT and you can play along with your favorite band. Not only can you learn the exact notes but you can isolate the instruments meaning if you are a guitar player, you can play the guitar parts over the actual recording of the song minus the original guiatr part. You basically play along IN the real recording. Like you are in the band. The cool thing about this app is that it shows you the notes scored out measure by measure. I’ll offer up an example of RUSH but there are many popular bands and songs available. Obviously more are in the works. Singers, drummers, guitar players and bass players should use this app. I highly recommend it. Where do you think I learn my licks for “Lick This”?
