How did you get your start in radio?

I knew from age 11 that I wanted to be in radio. When I got a driver's license, I started hanging around a small station in Edmond tellin' them I'd do their overnight, weekend shift for free. After dozens of "practice runs" in their production room, they took me up on it...and I even negotiated a better rate. Minimum wage!

What is your favorite part about the job?
The creative aspect. We're so fortunate to have a job with management that provides a work environment where there are no boundaries. We get to be wildly creative with very few limitations.

Any personal secrets you wanna share?
Nothing about me, but I can tell you that Craig listens to Plain White T's. (And Missouri Tiger's quarterback, Chase Daniel eats boogers.)

Tell us a crazy radio story.
When I was working in New Orleans, I had a fairly attractive girl just walk into the control room while I was on the air...completely topless. Do I call security or roll into a 20-minute, non-stop, music marathon of the best hits of the 80's?

Favorite radio interview? Or worst? Tell us the dirt!
There are so many...one of them has to be Aerosmith in the KATT studio. S.T. and me (and Brad) just kickin' it. They stayed longer than they planned, brought in their own CDs and we had a blast. Josie Scott of Saliva is also a great interview and great guy. Jack Black was hysterical. His people told us ahead of time, "Don't ask him to sing. He'll just work into it."  So we didn't and about 20 minutes into the 30 minute interview he said, "Are you guys ever gonna ask us to sing?"  I've interviewed Richard Simmons three times in three different markets and each time he does the same routine...he refuses to enter the control room until the mic is on so he can pretend to burst in the studio from the hallway and interrupt the show. Michael Douglass, Pete Townsend and ZZTop were also great.  Dusty talked about being onstage with BBQ sauce in his beard the whole show and no one ever bothered to mention it to him.

 Zeppelin - Immigrant Song
 Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
Linkin Park - Bleed It Out

AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long

Your last meal on earth would be?
Chicken spaghetti for supper and my grandmother's chocolate cake for dessert!

One guilty pleasure that's totally impractical you won't give up.
Buying movies on DVD just so I can watch the extras. Random.

How do you like to relax?
Ambien.

Favorite cartoon character growing up? Or even today?
I always liked the winners as opposed to the one's gettin' hit in the head with skillets. Batman, Superman (are those cartoon characters?) and Roadrunner.

If you weren't in radio, what would your job be?
Makin' movies, commercials, creating some kind of content.

If you won the lotto, what's the first thing you would do with the money?
 Count it....on the beach.....in Italy.

What's your favorite pick-up line?
Hi, I'm Dean Blevins.

If you had to be an animal, what would you be?
A dog. Simple, uncomplicated lifestyles.

Movie star you most resemble?
Depending on my facial hair and weight at any given time, I can go from Kiefer-like to Phillip Seymor Hoffman-esque.

What's your current ringtone?
No ringtone. It's always on silent. Much more peaceful.

How do you describe the loyal KATT listeners?
I've met several who have pretty good-sized KATT tattoos. Inkin' it up for the KATT is pretty dedicated.  Even devil worshipers hide the 6's under their hair!
